Tips for 3DGS Scan Improvement
If you feel like your 3DGS scan doesn't look as great as some of the other splats you've seen, we have 3 tips for you that can help your next project to look just like them!
- Not moving the object also means you should avoid using a turntable for this scan method as well.
- You would want to orbit inward for all 3DGS captures, as this is crucial for establishing the axis point even if the purpose of the scan is to get an entire scene.
- Ensure enough coverage: it's recommended for 3DGS to also orbit around the object, this will provide the algorithm perspectives to analyze and in turn generate a more dynamic splat.
Incorporating these tips will help you get started quickly to correctly capture 3D gaussian splats, and we're sure you'll get better and better the more you try!
