Using LiDAR Scan on KIRI Engine

If you own a LiDAR-equipped iPhone or iPad, this little sensor next to the cameras can be quite handy as it serves multiple functions with KIRI Engine.

Room Scan is one of the amazing features of KIRI Engine, and it allows you to quickly generate room layouts. To use it:

• Select LiDAR Capture.
• Choose Room Scan and pan the camera around the room.
• Align the camera with edges of the wall and make sure to get coverage of the furniture.
• As you pan and walk around, the app will do most of the job for you.
• You can also capture multiple rooms in the same house and combine them into a larger floorplan within the app.

Scene Scan is the quickest way of visualizing and measuring scenes. To use it:

• Pan the camera around the scene.
• Walk around.
• You will quickly obtain a 3D visualization of the environment.

Object Capture is the most advanced 3D reconstruction algorithm available with LiDAR sensors.

• It's more detailed and accurate than Scene Scan.
• Object Capture will also take longer to generate than Scene Scan.
• Object Capture allows you to walk around objects and capture highly-detailed meshes.
• It comes with a built-in AR feature that allows you to view the capture in AR space!

These modes are completely free, and super fun to use. We highly encourage anyone with LiDAR-Equipped iOS devices to try them out!
