Introduction
Using 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS)
3D Gaussian Splatting is a whole new level for 3D visualization and realism. We think that this technology is going to change the 3D industry forever! This technique allows you to turn video footage into realistic 3D renders in a matter of minutes, and the entire capturing and viewing processes can be completed on your phone.
To capture a 3D gaussian splat:
- Take a sequential video or photos around either a person, an object, or an entire scene.
- The perspectives you capture from during the video or photos will allow for the respective viewing angle's accuracy after the processing.
Our 3DGS feature has some bonus percs to it:
- KIRI Engine's 3DGS allows you to generate a separate 3D model that is its mesh conversion stored in the 'Scans' list and unlock bonus export features just like Photo Scan and Featureless Object Scan models.
- You can choose to mask the 3DGS file to isolate the object scanned from the rest of the background.
- It allows you to use the in-app editing tools to crop unwanted areas of your visualization and obtain clean output.
Don't hesitate to try this cool visualization technique out! This method, in our opinion, is the easiest to capture with minimal room for error and easily returns great results.
